Hubballi: PWD engineer engineers protest at Raichur train station in the morning because Hassan-Solapur trains are delayed for more than five hours.
Hassan-Solapur-Hassan Express, Basava Express (MySuru-Bagalkot) and Karnataka Express (Bengaluru-New Delhi) and several other trains were postponed because they worked twice at Yard Hindupur and Devarapalli.
As a prospective examination of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) is left in trouble and worrying whether they will not reach the Kalaburagi exam center on time, they protest by blocking the train.
“Indian trains play with student life,” they accused.
Some candidates also urge trains on Twitter and other social media platforms to help them reach centers before their examination begins.
Sources at South Western Railway Hubballi said because technical problems had doubled working in Hindupur, several trains were detained the night before.
“Efforts are made to increase their schedule and real-time monitoring is being carried out.
Basava Express reached Kalaburgi at 8.11 in the morning and Solapur-Hassan Express reached Yesvantpur at 8:15 a.m.,” added the source.
