Chennai: Head of Minister of Tamil Nadu minister on Friday urged the Minister of External Affairs to Jaishankar to take adequate steps to maintain the life and property of the Indian community in South Africa, exposed to riots.
In a letter to Jaisankar, a copy released to the media, Stalin appointed the report of the latest riots and concerns submitted by the Indian society.
“It has also been reported that the Indian community, including most of the Tamil population, has suffered economic losses.
Learned that they were also worried about the escalation of further tension there,” said Minister of Justice.
He said the problem was extraordinary attention and urgency and urging ministers to take problems with the South African government through diplomatic ways to restore peace and harmony immediately.
