During his time as an income and minister of Urban Development, he was appointed as Chairman of the Permanent Committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in 2010 for four consecutive years.
He was also appointed as chairman of the Urban Development Authority Ahmedabad in 2015.
