New Delhi: Delhi police on Friday registered firs against several people, who protested the construction of Hajj House in Dwarka, for violating DDMA guidelines, officials said.
A senior police official said the case under the right part of the law had been registered and further investigation was underway.
Overcoming protests in the Dwarka 22 sector, Delhi President BJP Adesh Gupta said there were many plots in Delhi belonging to the waqf board and the Hajj house could be built there.
He said there were shortages of schools, colleges and hospitals in the city.
“The Hajj house that came in the Dwarka 22 sector truly opposed the people’s wishes,” Gupta said.
Protests came after the Dwarka population federation wrote to the Governor of LT Anil Baijal urged him to cancel the land allocated for the construction of a Hajj house.
