Madurai: Apart from the announcement of the State Higher Education Department on Tuesday that all semester exams will be held offline, students in Madurai try to protest in the district for the third day on Wednesday.
About 150 students who protested were arrested by the police.
Since Monday, students of various arts and science colleges in Madurai have demanded protests demanding that semester examinations be carried out online.
Protests interfere with traffic.
The TNSTC bus was broken on Tuesday.
Police security was tightened outside of all major universities in the city and in the Tallakulam region, Narimedu, take care of, and Thiruppaknankundram on Wednesday.
About 150 students from five universities who tried to protest were stopped by the police in Chockikulam and arrested.
Registered cases against more than 700 students from Polytechnic College Polytechnic Garden Tamil Nadu, Mannar Thirumalai Naickar College, Sourashtra College, Madura College and Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Evening College.
Separate cases are registered with students of each college.
