Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha party on Saturday protested outside the lyrics and the script writer Juhu Juhu Residence demanded an apology for his statement within 24 hours.
Akhtar, in an interview to the news portal, the Taliban word is savage and their actions are despicable.
He said they supported RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal alike.
Former energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said Akhtar must be sent to Afghanistan.
