Protest Price: Congress asked people to buy fuel on July 15

Bhubaneswar: Congress, State Unit, on Monday appealed to people to increase their voices on the increase in fuel prices and urged them not to buy gasoline, diesel and gas cooking for a day on July 15 as a sign of protest against the government’s failure to the government to overcome this problem.
“We (Congress Party) will launch agitation throughout the state from July 7 to 17 against steep reasons at gasoline, diesel, LPG gas, and other important commodities.
We ask consumers to boycott fuel purchases and LPG gas on July 15.
We feel the sign of this protest can put pressure on the center and state government, “Niranjan Patnik Congress President said.
According to the plan, the party will arrange demonstrations in each block on July 7, at the District Head Office on July 9 and in Bhubaneswar on July 14.
“We will launch a signature campaign in front of all gas stations on July 17.
A memorandum with a consumer signature will be sent to the center,” Niranjan said.
Patnaik said astronomical increase with fuel prices and high inflation discussed the body against people during a pandemic.
“Many people lose their jobs and face salary deductions during pandemic.
The economy has been affected.
The price of fuel has passed the RS 100 sign in various countries, including Odisha.
The center and state government must cut the central customs and declare VAT on fuel,” said Niranjan.
Congress carried out bandh throughout the state on February 15 from 7am to 1 afternoon, protest the increase in fuel prices.
On February 6, Niranjan wrote the head of Minister of Naveen Patnaik and urged him to cut the state VAT of Rs 10 per liter on gasoline and diesel.
Prices of gasoline and diesel each reached Rs 100.72 and Rs 97.45 in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
At present, both excise tasks and state VAT are around 70% of the total fuel prices.
To support pandemic hit income, the state government in May last year climbed state VAT on gasoline from 26% to 32% and diesel from 26% to 28%.
At present, central excise tasks are 39% of gasoline and 42.5% diesel.
