Protesters looking for work letters, climb water tanks

PATIALA: Looking for job papers for Postable Constable Punjab Police, around 30 young men who were selected for the job but were stored in the waiting list in 2016, on Tuesday climbing water tanks in protest against their failures to give them jobs.

Some protesters even carry bottles filled with gasoline with them.
Protesters claimed that they had protested for about five years now, to get their appointment letter.
They said the SAD-BJP government in Punjab has completed a recruitment procedure for 7,416 police posts in 2016.
While 5,581 was given a joined letter, 1,835 stored in the waiting list.
Navdeep Singh, who is among the protesters, said, “Our recruitment was delayed by changes in government in 2017.
During the previous government administration, we were chosen to post.
However, 1,835 is stored in the waiting list.
Then in 2017, more than 300 police officers Recruited was removed from work because their recruitment was carried out on a fake SC / BC certificate.
We demanded that work letters are given to all selected candidates who have been stored in the waiting list since 2016.
The government has failed to pay anything for our demands, so more than 30 protesters rise to water tanks in patiala for unlimited periods.
