Greater Noida: a group of villagers who protested the alleged delay in disbursement of rehabilitation and the benefits of resettlement worked on the Noida Airport project in Jiway on Tuesday afternoon.
The protesters flocked to the site in the village of Rohi, where workers under private contractors have installed a boundary wall.
The villagers asked workers to stop construction, threaten them with violence if not.
In the face of a counterattack, workers have little choice but to stop construction and leave the drive from the earth and dumper on the site itself.
It was the second consecutive day working on the project was beaten.
Then on that day, the farmer group met district judges in Surajpur Collectorate and submitted a list of their demands.
The meeting between villagers protested and administrative officials was scheduled for Wednesday.
“It’s not that we filed fresh charges.
The government has failed to give us whatever they promised in writing.
We have held a meeting, discussion, and Panchayats peacefully but have not received a response.
So, we have no choice but to associate work on the project in Rohi, “Hansraj Singh said, a farmer at the forefront of protest.
According to him, there are at least 300 families who have not received rehabilitation and other benefits.
Officials, however, insisted that only a handful of families are left with the benefits of the absence of documents.
“Only a few cases left to be discarded for some technical problems.
The land procurement department looked at them.
Meanwhile, we have warned villagers so as not to take the law in their hands.
The police will be asked to start actions if the work is disrupted again,” said Rajni Kant , judge of the gambling sub-division.
While most of the villagers said they had not received the benefits of rehabilitation, some of which had shifted to the Bangar Jewar accused them of being struggling for basic facilities in cities built by the government to move farmers.
“There is no identity card incurred for the affected family as promised.
The youth that should be given work is still awaiting skills training or skills.
We were asked to pay each rs of 10,000 for new electrical connections in the city.
We were told that the old connection We will be transferred.
There is no water supply network or drainage.
Police post or security settings appear to be a distant dream.
All of this has been promised to us, “said Singh.
Officials at Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), government-specific vehicles on the project, said work on civil facilities was underway.
“Tender has floated to arrange the remaining facilities.
This is a problem a few weeks.
All promised facilities will be available soon,” said an official of the Yamuna Expressway Industry Development Authority (YEIDA), who carried out work in the city on behalf of Nial.
