Panaji: Head of the Sawant Pramod minister on Saturday falled by several residents of St Jacinto Island in South Goa “unfortunate and embarrassing”, which leads to the cancellation of the flaglifting ceremony proposed by the Indian Navy, and adds that the state government will do it not tolerate ‘anti-india activities’.

“It is very unfortunate and embarrassing that some individuals on St Jacinto Island have objected to lifting the national flag by the Indian Navy on the occasion of Indian Independence Day.

The Indian Navy on Friday canceled the opening of the national flag on Sao Jacinto Island in South Goa after residents objected to him.
“After public pressure, the Indian Navy on Friday from conducting a ceremony to lift the flag on St Jacinto Island in South Goa, amid allegations of villagers and local politicians, who accused the government’s plot for the island takeover,” a statement.
