Karachi (Pakistan): Former Pakistani Skipper Shahid Afridi has been tested positive for Covid-19 before the beginning of the seventh edition of the Super League of Pakistan (PSL) scheduled to begin on Thursday.
Afridi will represent the Quetta Gladiator in what will be a farewell PSL but the All-Rounder is set to miss the first few games for franchises after testing positive Covid-19.
“Unfortunately I have been tested positively but don’t have symptoms at all.
God willing hope to recover immediately, negative test and re-join QG as soon as possible.
Good luck for all teams at # HBLPSL7 I am committed to giving everything in my last PSL edition,” Afridi Tweeted.
PSL will begin on Thursday in Karachi with defending champion Multan Sultan facing off 2020 champion Karachi Kings after the opening ceremony of the Turai-Raiser.
The National Stadium will host 15 first matches until February 7, before the action moved to Lahore, where the Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistani Cricket’s house, will hold the last 19 matches from 10-27 February.
