Patiala: The state government has failed to clean up subsidy contributions paid to PSPCL.
Power Corporation can witness an increase in financial expenses after the government’s decision to release consumer arrears until the load capacity of 2KW in front of the assembly poll.
The government has paid subsidies of Rs 6,237 Crore including, RS 4,900 Cash to PSPCL in the current financial year while in the last Fortnight PSPCL has been paid at 1,100 crore, as the number of subsidies by the government.
The total subsidy maturing until October 15 is Rs 10,285 Crore, leaving the default number of Rs 4,047 Crore paid to PSPCL.
The PSERC has calculated RS17,796 Crore subsidies, including last year’s arrears and this was paid in the same 12 monthly installments.
PS PSERC has worked on RS 10668 Crore subsidies to paid this fiscal to various consumer categories.
It consists of Rs 6,735 Crore for consumer farm pump pumps, Rs 1,627 Crore for domestic consumers SC, BC and BPL and RS 2,266 Crore for industrial consumers.
When contacted, Jatinder Goyal Finance Director, confirmed that, “more than RS 4,000 Crore fees have not been cleaned by the state government.”
