Patna: The Geology Department of the University of Patna (PU) will soon have a well-developed geological field museum that displays several unique geological features along with the leading type of rock from various countries and abroad, representatives of Chancellor Girish Kumar Chaudhary on Sunday.
Inaugurating the celebration of the Jubilee Platinum from the department through the digital platform here, VC said the university would provide all the technical and financial assistance in the establishment of this field museum, the first of its kind in the state, in the interests of a larger budget of scientists.
He praised the all-round progress made by this department since the beginning of 75 years ago and expressed his hopes that it would continue to contribute significantly to national organizations related to mines and geology by producing brilliant geo-scientist galaxies.
He ensured the implementation of a sincere road map to be prepared by the department during the celebration throughout the year.
Some departmental alumni suggest the formation of corpus funds with the help of financial contributions from alumni so that departmental development activities can be resolved with the help of this fund in the future.
Two alumni, a retired teacher and former legislator, announced a contribution of RS 1 Lakh respectively to prepare these funds and appealed to all other alumni to donate at least one day salary or retirement for this fund.
Head of Geology Department PU Atul Aditya Pandey welcomed the guests and showed various academic development and departmental infrastructure through video.
He said the road map of the development department would be carved with the help of all alumni in the year of Jubilee Platinum.
