Vadodara: City-based Parul University (PU) has launched the First Election Literacy Club (ELC), a student community dedicated to making young people understand the importance of democracy.
Since the beginning of the electoral club has made a type of record by helping more than 3,000 students sign up for their election rights while also helping people to change their address on their election cards.
In the past month, the club has organized ten events and competitions that are in line with the need to support government initiatives related to elections.
The campaign run by the club sees more than 3,000 people registering or updating their details on the voter card in one day.
Four different street drama held and 25-plus poster presentations and banners on display to create awareness.
PU has become the only educational institution throughout Gujarat to open a club like that.
“One vote in a democratic country damages all security.
It is important that we make our students aware of the need for this initiative and I thank you for our officials who took the time to support the purpose of this election”, said Dr.
M M N N Patel, Deputy Chancellor PU.
