PATNA: Patna University (PU) on Monday chose to abolish the custom of holding composed examinations such as admitting students to the own undergraduate classes under standard in addition to self-financing modes.
The decision has been taken at a meeting of the PU’s academic council held under the chairmanship of all vice-chancellor (VC) Girish Kumar Chaudhary.
Entry to the traditional and self-financing classes would be created on the basis of marks obtained from the Intermediate assessments conducted by CBSE, ICSE and BSEB.
The viva voice in the event of self-financing classes was scrapped.
But, it had been made apparent by the instructional council this provision has been made just for the present calendar year.
The VC explained the academic council settlement would need to be reinforced by the syndicate and it might be transmitted into the Raj Bhavan for getting sheriff’s assent to the transitory law for this result.
The academic council decided to alter the nomenclature of six classes from the larger interest of their pupils.
The titles of classes such as MA/MSc in social work, audio, staff management and industrial associations (PMIR) will be altered simply to experts in social work, songs and PMIR, respectively.
It was also determined that the VC would compose into the UGC to expand the time limitation for the enrollment of PhD scholars in the years for a long time in light of the college’s closed as a result of outbreak.
The monthlong summer holiday in PU, together with the rest of the universities in the nation, stopped on Monday.
The new academic session will start on Tuesday.
The VC has led the heads of both divisions and principals of universities to resume online courses of UG and PG students according to their schedule.
