PUDUCHERRY: The Country Election Commission has prepared to hold a local agency poll in the Union Puducherry region, which has not been held after the representative period chosen in 2006 ended in June 2011.

There are 4,72,202 male voters, 5,30,937 female voters and 117 transgender selections.
PUDUCHERRY with two cities and five Panchayats commune have the highest number of voters with 7,72,754 followed by a cities with one city and five Panchayats commune with 1.61,556, Yanam with the municipality with 37,817 and MAHE with 31,129.
The Commission prepares the election roll after removing duplication, voters who have died and update voters who shift and migrate to new hamlets.
The total number of voters was reduced in 941 from the general election roll to the Puducherry Legislative Assembly 2021.
There were 6,59,716 voters in the United States when the civilian poll was held last time in 2006.
