PUDUCHERRY: The United States Puducherry area has not even recognized a single student to private schools or countries that are assisted under 25% of orders for children from disadvantaged and weaker groups of the community to the rights of children to free and Mandatory education (RTE)) acts.
RTE’s actions came into force on April 1, 2010, after Rajya Sabha passed it in July 2009 and Lok Sabha in August 2009.
The Puducherry government, however, issued a notice in this case only in 2011 to apply the following actions from the direction of Madras High Court.
But the action continued to remain on paper.
The government failed to issue orders or circular which directed private schools and assisted the government to expand 25% free seats for students from disadvantaged parts of the community.
Although the government issued orders and circular directed the school to apply several other provisions of the law, failed to monitor its implementation.
“The deadline for meeting various components such as expanding a 25% booking, ensuring functional toilets, clean drinking water, playgrounds, border walls, libraries and school management committees ends on March 31, 2013.
Most state governments fail to meet deadlines.
However , Many countries praise free efforts and seats expanded for children from disadvantaged parts of the community, but Puducherry has not made a ticket so far, “said a holistic approach to the empowerment of People (Hope) P Joseph Victor Raj.
Near 1.5 lakh students have enrolled in 286 private schools and 33 government schools in the region and around 37,000 students (25%) will benefit if ACT RTE is implemented in the region.
A school education department official said the government, facing severe financial constraints, is currently not in a position to direct private school and without assistance to distribute 25% of seats for students from disadvantaged parts and bear their education costs.
