Puducherry manages 6.5 lakh vaccine doses

PUDUCHERRY: The health care authority has so far provided more than 6.5 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine (including the second dose) to beneficiaries in the Puducherry Union area.
They have given a vaccine to approach 38,000 health workers, 23,000 frontline workers and 4.6 lakh others so far in the region.
The area did not report Covid-19 death on Wednesday and the death toll reached 1,781.
Puducherry headquarters have maximum death with 1,417 followed by Karaikan (224), Yanam (104) and Mahe (36).
Infection mortality rates reach 1.5%.
The sample level of sample (6,549) tested on Wednesday reached 1.7%.
The health care authority has so far tested 14.43 lakh swab samples where 12.33 lakh is restored negatively.
Territory reported 112 new cases even when 139 patients recovered the active case to 961.
From them, 798 were under the isolation and treatment of houses.
Puducherry head office reported maximum new cases with 85 followed by Karaikan (12), Yanam (8) and Mahe (7).
Puducherry headquarters has a maximum active case with 750 followed by Karaikan (130), Yanam (27) and MAHE (54).
This area has so far reported 1.19 lakh cases where 1.17 lakh patients recovered the recovery rate of 97.7%, which was higher than the national average (97.4%).
