Puducherry MLAs to take oath on Wednesday

PUDUCHERRY: All India NR Congress (AINRC) MLA K Lakshminarayanan, that had been appointed since pro-tem speaker, can assume control on Wednesday. Lieutenant governor (additional cost ) Tamilisai Soundararajan can manage the oath and workplace of secrecy to him in a simple function at 9am at Raj Nivas. Lakshminarayanan will administer the oath of office to the nominated and elected members of this legislative meeting at 10am. Former minister Lakshminarayanan has been chosen to get a record fifth successive period from Raj Bhavan constituency (erstwhile Cassicade constituency prior to the delimitation exercise). He had been chosen twice on Congress ticket (2011 and 2016) and double on Congress splinter groups’ ticket (Puducherry Makkal Congress in 2001 and also Puducherry Munnetra Congress in 2006). He stopped Congress and combined AINRC before their 2021 assembly surveys. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by AINRC appeared victorious bagging 16 of their complete 30 chairs in the land. AINRC, that contested 16 chairs, won 10 seats while the ally BJP won half of the eight seats it contested. On the other hand, the DMK bagged half the Congress could afford just two. A record amount of six independents have won the 2021 surveys. One of these chosen from Yanam constituency beating AINRC founder-leader and ministry N Rangasamy expanded assistance to the BJP.
