Rangasamy on Thursday decided to postpone the opening of the Union region and Union College due to Covid pandemics.
While the Education Department of the United States has announced that schools for students from grade 9 to 12 will be opened from July 16 and all universities will also be opened from July 16.

Minister of Education Puducherry in a statement said, “The previous government decided to reopen schools and colleges.
But now we have decided to delay because of the current Covid 19 situation.
We will announce the opening of the school and college later.”
UT’s decision to postpone the opening of the school and college came after 121 fresh Covid-19 cases reported on Wednesday took the total case to 1.19 lakh.
The rate of taxation (TPR) in UT is now at 1.99 percent while the mortality rate is 1.49 percent and the recovery rate is 97.40 percent.
About 4.35 lakh people over the age of 45 have taken the first dose of vaccination in the United States.
As many as 37,646 health workers and 22,944 frontline workers were vaccinated in Puducherry to date.
