Puducherry reported 2,783 Covid cases, so far

PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry reported the highest Covid-19 case number on Thursday since the infection outbreak in March 2020.
The region reported 2,783 new cases even as 1,073 patients recovered in the last 24 hours at 10am on Thursday took active cases up to 13,053.
Previously the area reported the maximum number of daily fresh Covid-19 cases (2,093) on Tuesday.
Only on four occasions, the Covid-19 case daily passed 2,000-mark.
A 95-year-old woman without comorbidity died because the infection took the death toll to 1,897.
Puducherry headquarters have maximum death with 1,480 followed by Karaikan (254), Yanam (109) and MAHE (54).
Infection fatality level reaches 1.3%.
The weekly level of infection in the region reached 37.8%.
The sample front level (6,444) tested on Thursday reached 43.2%.
So far, 9.13 Lakh people got the first dose, 5.9 second doses and 3.951 received a dose of caution.
