PUDUCHERRY: The daily peposititiveness of Covid-19 infection fell to 4.8% in the Puducherry Union on Saturday.
Of the 1,705 samples were tested, 81 was positive back for infection.
However, the level of puducherry infection is higher than the national average of 3.5%.
Weekly levels, which floated around 30% a few days ago, dropped to 8.5%.
The weekly puducherry level was also higher than the national average of 5.1% of the regions reported 81 new cases even as 493 patients recovered reduced the total active case to 1,581.
From them, 1,530 was under isolation and home care while the remaining 51 was in the hospital.
Puducherry headquarters reported maximum new cases with 59 followed by Karaikan (20), Yanam and Mahe respectively.
Puducherry head office has a maximum active case with 900 followed by Karaikan (565), Yanam (94) and Mahe (22).
Territory did not report Covid-19 death in the last 24 hours.
The death toll remained at 1.957.
The Puducherry head office has a maximum fatality with 1,525 followed by Karaikan (264), Yanam (113) and MAHE (55).
Infection mortality rates reach 1.2%.
This region has so far reported 1.65 lakh cases where patients 1.61 lakh recovered, registering the recovery rate of 97.9%, which was higher than the national average of 97.4%.
