Mumbai: In a large setback to the Government of Maha Vikas Aghadi, the Election Commission of the State of Maharashtra (SEC) on Monday stated that his Bintir became six parishes of Zilla and their Panchayat Samitis on October 5, without the OBC quota.
This happened when the state hoped to iron the obstacles in restoring a 27% reservation for OBC in the poll of the local agency disposed of by the Supreme Court in March.
The election date was stated only a few days after SC said that the prerogative seconds to hold elections and restrictions related to the Covid Country in the election did not apply to Bypolls.
“Given the SC order and a decrease in Covid cases, we decided to declare the bypoll date,” said Commissioner of the State Election for Madan.
Bypolls will be held in the former OBC-reserved seat in Nagpur, Akola, Washim, Dhule, Nandurbar and Palghar.
The chair will now be in the open category.
SC has canceled the OBC quota and set aside this poll in March on the grounds that the order, combined with them for SCS and STS, exceeded the 50% limit.
The OBC quota can only be permitted after empirical data on the community is collected and if the 50% quota limit is not crossed, it is said.
“We will consult with all parties and find roads.
In the future, even regulations can be considered,” said OBC Vijay Wadettiwar.
He also claims most parties will face the OBC field from an open chair.
The opposition blames the government for a crisis.
