Pune: The Uttamnagar police investigated the case of combustion and damage in which two men, riding a motorcycle, allegedly burned 13 wheels and two autorickshaws in the Shivkamalnagari housing building at Shivane about 5.45 in the morning on Wednesday.
No one was injured in the incident.
According to the police, CCTV footage in a nearby building showed two men riding a motorcycle to the building and then set one of the two-wheeled two.
Then in the morning, Commissioner Pune Pune Amitabh Gupta and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone III) Pournima Gaikwad along with the senior crime branch official visited the place.
Pune and Pune Metropolitian Region Development Authority (PMRDA) Firemen rushes to the site and extinguishes the fire within 20 minutes.
The locals managed to move around 10 to 15 two-wheeled to a safer place.
Gaikwad said, “We have registered a case against two motorbike riders.
The reason behind the action is unknown.” The housing building has 25 flats.
A local resident, Umesh Pujari, said, “My motorbike is partly broken.
I have faced difficulties in my work and now, this is another financial burden for me”.
“I fell asleep.
Suddenly sounded like a firecracker and there was a lot of smoke.
We rushed to the terrace thinking that there might be a gas leak, but soon realized that some criminals had committed deeds,” Pradeep Salgar said.
Other residents say, “plastic drainage pipes melted and now we cannot use our bathroom.
The power cable has been damaged in the incident and there is no power supply to our house.
What is our crime?”
