Pune: Police Pimpri Chinchwad has arrested two suspects, including Onehaving 200 cases of vehicle theft that registered against him, and recovered 51 stolen motorbikes worth RS36lakh of them.
The Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch team, led by Senior Inspector Uttam Tangade, arrested Duo Santosh Ghare (39) from Vadgaon Maval and Shankar Jagle (20) Chikhali, last week.
“Ghare has 200 cases registering against it,” said Police Commissioner Pimpri Chinchwad Krishna Prakash.
He said that while vehicle theft investigated in the Talegaon Dabhade area, Sub-Inspector of Mangesh Bhange from the crime branch examined 450 CCTV recordings and focused on Ghare and Jagle.
“When the team put a trap at Talega Dabhade, the duo tried to escape.
They were arrested after Chase 2km,” Commissioner said.
