Pune: A 70-year-old woman, who was missing from her home in Jerawada, since July 17, was found killed on Monday.
Pimpri Chinchwad police have recovered the remnants of the woman’s body into the bush along the Pune-Mumbai highway in Dehu Road.
The police have caught Imtiyaz Shaikh, a 25-year-old criminal from Dehu Road in the police record, in connection with the murder of Sojrabai Jogdand from Laxminagar in Jerawada.
“We have launched a search for Jogdand’s son-in-law, which has hatched the murder plots and also helped his nephews Imtiyaz Shaikh to kill Jogdand,” said Police Commissioner Pimpri Chinchwad Krishna Prakash.
On July 15, Putri Jogdand Latika Gaikwad had filed a complaint of missing people with Jerawada police about her mother.
Meanwhile, while examining criminals on police records in the Nigdi area, the branch of the Crime Branch of Pimpri Chinchwad Jalat Tamboli received tips on Shaikh and his aunt involvement in the jogdand murder.
“The Shailesh Gaikwad Inspector of the Crime Branch brought Shaikh to detention.
During the question, Shaikh admitted his involvement in the murder,” Krishna Prakash said.
He said that the victim and his daughter-in-law had always quarreled.
The victim has even thrown his daughter-in-law out of the house.
“Women who are frustrated want to eliminate Jogdand.
For that he sought help from his nephew, Shaikh, who had two murder cases registered with him.
He even told Shaikh that Jogdand had sold it five hectares of land and they could share his money.
After his murder,” Commissioner said.
.
He said that on July 14, the woman again called Shaikh and told him to come immediately when Jogdand harassed it.
“Shaikh went to Jerawada in the stolen autorickshaw.
With the help of his aunt, Shaikh wrapped Jogdand to death and then dumped the body in Dehu Road,” Krishna Prakash said.
The Commissioner said that the police on Monday found the Jogdand body decomposed.
“We haven’t caught Jogdand’s son-in-law.
The suspect Shaikh has been sent to the police detention for seven days,” he said.
This case was transferred to Jerawada police for further investigation.
