Pune: Daily passenger traffic at city airports has risen firmly in the past few days to around 20,000, indicating that fear of Omicron has not stopped traveling people.
On December 24, the total passenger movement at the airport was established at 22,500, the highest because the flight resumed the operation in May last year after the first lock.
Likewise, on December 23, the total passenger movement at the airport was stood at 20,450.
On December 26, the traffic reached 21,103.
And on December 20, daily passenger traffic was 20,443.
Then, on December 12, the traffic was 20,328.
“On December 23 and 24, the total flight movement at the airport was 140 and 144 each.
Crossing a sign of 20,000 passengers was that the flight movement had increased after the airport became operational all the time from December 1 after more than a year.
Before Pandemic Covid-19, About 28,000 to 30,000 passengers traveled every day while the total flight movement of around 170, “said an airport official.
Airport officials previously said that once the facility became operational all the time after the running of the runway, passenger traffic would witness large climbing, touching the pre-pandemic level at the beginning of next year.
But since December1, daily passenger traffic on most days remained limited to 15,000 to 18,000 despite increasing in the number of flights.
The airline also said that they were waiting and watching.
