Pune: More than 15.31 Crore doses from the covishield vaccine transported from Pune airport in the first six months of this year.
Vaccine transportation will increase in the coming months.
“With June watch the largest number of covishield vaccines transported from Pune airport, the same thing is expected to increase.
While the airport is in a position to manage more transportation, we are still waiting for nods to change the area of cargo holders at this time,” said an airport official.
India began a vaccination trip against Covid-19 from January and Covishield was produced by SII-based Pune, which was transported to several countries by air and road.
The source said with SII arranged to produce Russian-V Sputnik from September, transportation will increase.
“The airport will continue to provide assistance to transport vaccines,” other airport officials said.
“This month, until now, more than 3 doses of crore vaccines are transported from Pune airport.
With almost two weeks left for the month it ended, we saw the highest vaccine transportation in July this year,” another airport source said.
