Pune: A total of 4,100 people have been fined since the beginning of the new year because of violations covid appropriate behavior.
Many of them were fined for not wearing a mask.
Pune Municipal Corporation has taken action against 400 people, while Pimpri Chinchwad CMC has been fined 200 offenders.
Along with the civil administration and even the police department have also been issued for the implementation of the norms Covid.
Since January 4, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad police have fined as much as 3,494 people for not wearing a mask.
Of these, arrested by the Pune police, 3,153 people, while the Pimpri-Chinchwad police have arrested 341 people.
According to civic officials, measures are being taken at the neighborhood level.
Disaster management department is also taking action.
“PMC has urged people to follow all norms Covid.
The drive against violators started after new variants appeared.
The action was taken in a public place, social gatherings and places of crowding,” said Head of the Department of Disaster Management said PMC.
In accordance PMC officials, they have formed a special Wardwise team to take action.
Ninety teams will operate in the PMC area.
Around 550 members of staff will be deployed to monitor such violations Covid.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar recently said that wearing a mask will attract Rs 500 fine while Spitter will be fined Rs 1,000.
PCMC additional commissioner Vikas Dhakane said they had stepped up action against those who do not wear masks and spitting in public places.
“We have formed a team to fly with four members in it.
There are 16 teams like that, two for each zone within the body of the Civic.

A police officer from Pune told TOI that police have collected a fine of Rs 15.69 lakh from these people, who were found to move on the road without wearing a mask.
“We have intensified patrols on the streets to catch people who are moving down the street or in public places Sans Mask,” said the officer.
An officer of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police said that the police have collected fines worth Rs 17 050 from people who are not wearing a mask.
