Pune: The State Public Ministry of Health on Tuesday decided to audit more than 2,500 Covid-19 patient bills that complained about excessively by coordinating with each collector.
BILS will be audited in one month and the Community Health Official Committee and members of civil society will follow up on recovery and replacement.
Complaints that appear in the survey conducted by Jan Arogya Abhiyan (JAA) and Corona Ekal Mahila Punaravasan Samiti, and by individuals.
Abhay Shukla from Jaa said, “This is not our survey but also from other cases and this intervention will definitely help as a collector and public health officials to coordinate with Nodal officers.
A committee must be formed with representatives from civil society will definitely help,” he told Tii.
Anand Phadke added that their surveys showed that patients were overcharged and many were not even given a bill.
Representative Cempser Kulkarni added that they had surveyed 2,579 patients who were mostly treated in the private sector.
“They have been excessive in the range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 Lakh.
This intervention will help when the collector and commissioner of the district should track this problem,” he added.
Representatives from the hospital sector say audits need to be carried out before removing patients with many self-regulation mechanisms after charges.
Sanjay Patil, Chair of the Indian Hospital Council, Pune said that allegations of restrictions did not consider input costs and also did not trust all stakeholders.
