Pune: Police Sahakarnagar on Monday arrested a driver of the Autorickshaw and his accomplice on charges of robbing the 37-year-old professional from Palghar from two laptops, collectively worth Rs 60,000, hitting him with a stone on his head in Padmavati the night before.
“We have restored a laptop and also an autorickshaw used in crime from the driver of Ganesh Dharpale (33), a resident of Ambegaon Pathar, and his aide Gokul Khule (32) from Katraj,” said Sub-Inspector Sudhir Ghadge.
IT professionals, Amol Joshi, have visited his relatives residence in Katraj on Sunday.
Joshi rises autorickshaw, who already has someone (khule) in it, to reach the terminus bus Swargate.
Joshi’s plan is to take a state transportation bus to Palghar.
Ghadge said, “With the pretext of dropping Khule to his house, Dharpale drove an autorickshaw on the track in Padmavati and stopped in an isolated place around 11.05 PM.
Khule suddenly crashed into Joshi on his head with a stone, grab a professional IT laptop, forced him to go down And drove away.
The robbery was revealed after Joshi told the police.
