Pune: Commuter must pay more for the autorickshaw trip from November 22.
Regional Pune Transport Authority, led by district collectors, has revised the autorickshaw tariff in the city.
As a revised rate, the minimum RS21 tariff, up from the existing RS18, will be charged.
Commuter must pay RS14 per km.
This rose from the existing RS12.39.
An official said that an additional tariff of 25% of the increase in interest rates would be charged between 12 am and 5 in the morning.
In rural areas, additional costs 40% will apply from 12Midnight up to 5 in the morning.
The official said the meter calibration would take effect from November 22.
“The authorities will take action against the driver whose meter is not calibrated,” the official said.
The rate was revised in the Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Civic region and in Baramati.
“Last month, it was announced that the minimum autorickshaw cost would be RS20 instead of RS18 for 1.5 km and RS13 first per km thereafter.
It has been postponed for discussion,” said an RTO official earlier this month.
Trade unions have opposed the tariff structure, called very low after continuous increase in fuel prices over the past few months.
