Pune: Pimpri Resident Ramjanam Vishwakarma (32), an employee of a private company, died of a head injury after falling from his bicycle, caused by hitching rope barriers when entering the dapodi-nigdi rapid transit system (BRTS) company KSB company.
The accident occurred around 1pm in February.
There were no guards present at the entrance of the BRTS despite claiming by Pune Mahamandal Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) officials that the guards had been deployed since last month in all BRTs Lanes in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.
Private vehicles should not enter the corridor.
“Eyewitnesses told us that there was no guard.
We are looking for more information from PMPML,” said Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Rohit Dolas from Police Pimpri.
Police register firs on Monday against the deceased for neglect and driving negligent.
Psi Dolas said Vishwakarma drove towards Pimpri from Nashik Phata when he reached the place.

The warden on duty will be tracked and questioned because it leaves an unmanned path.
PMPML repeatedly appealed to private vehicle owners not to enter the Special BRTS corridor.
