Pune: A civil contractor has registered complaints with Wanowrie police accusing a Canporator and three others to deceive him from RS3 Lakh between 20 and 30 August with the pretext of helping him secure a contract for Civic’s work.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone V) Namrata Patil told TI on Thursday, “The contractor has accused his complaints that the Corporator and his aides failed to get civil works in Wanowrie and refused to return the money.” Toi made a repeat effort to contact the Corporator but the phone was turned off.
Nikhil DivSe (32) complainants from Ghorpadi told TII, “Corporators and others took RS50,000 and RS2.5 lakh to help secure three contracts related to drainage, asphalt and concrete roads in the Wanworie area but they failed to fulfill appointments and Then refused to restore my RS3 Lakh.
“According to Disve, the four men also beat up, misused and threatened them with terrible consequences after he urged them to return the earliest money.
“They threatened to involve me in the wrong case,” Disve said.
“I applied for complaints with Wanowrie police related to the incident on October 18th.
Police conduct initial investigations and register pine related to fraud, criminal violations of trust, voluntarily cause injured under the relevant parts of the Criminal Code,” he added.
