PUNE: A constable of the Pune police crime division was reserved along with also his brother, Sagar Siddheshwar Gaikwad (35), has been detained on the complaint of producing ruckus in a civic-run Covid care facility and afterwards attacking two physicians and a few staff members in the Balewadi police chowky, near the medical center, on Monday evening.
Deputy commissioner of police (Zone IV) Pankaj Deshmukh told TOI,”Our staff is looking for the constable who hurried away in the police chowky amid chaos, leaving his brother.
Our staff present in the police chowky tried and attempted to pacify the constable and his brother, even when the latter began slapping the physicians as well as the Covid centre staffers.
The constable ran off as he understood the consequences of the action, but we will apprehend him shortly.” Deshmukh said,”The attack incident happened inside in addition to outside of the police chowky.
The policemen in the chowky could apprehend the constable’s brother” Dr Ajayshri Adhikrao Mhaskar (25) of Baner lodged a police complaint in relation to the event.
Gaikwad along with his constable brother went into the Covid centre to enquire about the health of a number of the relatives confessed there.
The physicians were active in a meeting and didn’t answer their telephone calls.
This means that the duo plus they began regretting the hospital staffers.
Mhaskar and the other physician came outside to pacify thembut they retained abusing the staffers.
The doctors decided to approach the authorities and moved into the chowky.
The duo went and slapped and struck the physicians along with other staffers.
The police have filed a case under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of their duty), 332 (whomever voluntarily causes harm to any man being a public servant in the discharge of his duty as such public servant), 323 (voluntarily causing injury ), 504 (intentionally insults), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of this IPC.
The authorities also invoked terms of the Maharashtra Medicare Services Persons Act.
Mature inspector Rajkumar Waghchaure of those Chatushrungi police stated,”The Gaikwads are inhabitants of Aundh.
The constable is now submitted with all the Pune police’s crime division.
