Pune: District collector Pune Rajesh Deshmukh on Friday said the weekly leading level (WPR) in the district is below 5% now but the following week’s case data will be very important because the ganesh celebration is ongoing.
The Regency WPR for a period of seven days from September 2 to 9 is 3.6%.
Meanwhile it was 2.5% in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, it was 3% within the limit of Pimbris Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and 4.6% in Pune rural areas.
Regency rural areas continue to be focused because WPR is higher than the district average.
Deshmukh said more tests were being carried out in the area.
The team has been sent to ensure that the Covid protocol is strictly followed and there is no crowding, he said.
Daily tests for the district touching 30,000 this week, crossing 10,000 daily marks in rural areas.
“Residents must follow the Covid protocol guidelines during the celebration period.
Ganesh Mandal has also been told to follow the same,” Dishmukh said.
The district WPR was 6.33% in the record prepared for the cabinet earlier this week – almost double the actual WPR from 3.6%.
Health officials claim that data differences continue because laboratories are not asked to enter Covid negative test report data.
“Positive reports are included in time because the laboratory knows they will face actions or even termination,” said a health official.
Of the total 104 laboratories in Pune District, most are concentrated in the PMC and PCMC areas.
Local administration has now directed laboratories to enter their negative reports of Covid on time.
Chinchwad City Commissioner Pimpri Rajesh Patil said he had directed the laboratory in his jurisdiction to complete the data entry on the earliest action or face.
“I will send a team to all laboratories to ensure that the data entry is completed so that there is no difference in the data distributed here and on the country portal,” he said.
Kota Commissioner Pune Vikram Kumar, also, said he had directed the laboratory in his jurisdiction not to postpone the data in the entry of positive and negative Covid test reports.
