Pune: Dighi police have registered a case against two men with charges of deceiving the residents of Chambholi from RS5 Lakh at the promise to secure a loan against the insurance policy on insurance policy.
An officer from Police Dighi told Toi that the 36-year-old complainant was a pipeline contractor.
In September 2018, two men promised him that he could get a loan against the insurance policy.
“The duo told the complainants to buy five policies from private insurance companies.
The complainant then spent RS2.5 Lakh and bought five insurance policies,” the officer said.
Despite constant follow-up, when the complainant does not get a loan.
“The duo promised him that they would return the money and demand more RS2.5 lakh to cancel the loan, which they invited to be processed,” the officer said.
“After receiving money in February, the duo stopped responding.
The man then filed FIR,” the officer said.
