Pune: Two men on Friday deceived a 70-year-old man and fled with his gold chain worth Rs 30,000 in Nigdi Pradhikaran.
The man, a resident of Nigdi, filed a complaint to the Nigdi police against the suspects on Friday night.
The police have registered a case of criminal violations of trust and cheating on the duo.
A police officer said the two men approached the old man, who came out to walk around the night, and told him that they liked the gold chain.
“The duo then asked the man to release the chain of his neck, saying that they wanted to take the photo so they could get a chain made of the same design,” the officer added.
“The elderly man handed over the chain to them and the duo took it and escaped,” the officer said.
