Pune: Many districts in the state cannot increase vaccine coverage and achieve the desired number due to duplicate names in the voter list, and migration of people to cities.
Officials said several districts in Marathwada, Vidarbha, and even some parts of the West Maharashtra struggled to achieve the first dose vaccination target because of the absence of several beneficiaries – many of them had taken vaccinations in other cities.
The Minister of Health of Rajesh Tope said last week that the regional government would be responsible for slow vaccination.
The voter list is used as a reference point to target the number of vaccine recipients who qualify above the age of 18.
The collector of many of these districts is like Dhule, Hingoli, Nanded, Beed and Nandurfrain, which is below in terms of vaccine coverage, has increased this problem, with Many people don’t live in these districts.
“We did the Har Ghar Dastak program.
Some families say members they have moved to various cities.
They have filed their names, but they continue to reflect on the list,” said an official.
Duplicate names in both districts are a problem and can only be checked after reaching residents and confirming that they have been inoculated.
However, this is a time-consuming exercise, a senior health official said.
A citizen said he had moved to Pune from Sangli, and re-registered as a voter here.
He has submitted the removal of his name in the voter list in Sangli, but his name appears on the list in both places.
Election authorities say that there has been repeated announcements for removal of names.
“We have cleared many applications to be removed.
The country even urges people to check and improve names.
Until November 30, the state has 8.9 CR total voters, the 4.68CR is a selector of men, and 4.27Cr is a female voter.
“We have erased more than 24KH names after supervision.
It is the responsibility of residents to remove names if they are registered in two places, “said an election official.
The local authority has raised this problem at a meeting with the Minister of Health.
Officials say the same thing needs to be examined during the door-to-door drive .
The list of new voters will be published on January 5.
