Pune: Relaxation in boundaries has made Rakshabandhan this year extra special for brothers and sisters, many of which cannot meet and celebrate last year’s festival due to sidewalks in place.
“My brother and brother-in-law came from Mumbai to spend a weekend here.
On Sundays, my cousins will also come to gather.
We plan to watch movies, eat lots of delicious food and catch up with each other,” said Heena Saxena, a resident of Pimpri.
Prajakta Kulkarni from Kothrud said, “I spend a lot of time during locking trying new recipes and sharing photos in whatsapp family groups.
This year, my brothers want me to cook some dishes that I have learned during locking.
I will make various Indian sweets and Planning to put the luxurious spread of traditional Maharashtrian food for lunch.
“While some prefer to celebrate the day with their brothers in the room, others want to take advantage of the convenience of restrictions and make themselves celebrate.
Varun Trivedi from Undri plans to bring his sister in shopping free this weekend.
“My sister graduated this year, so I wanted to make Rakshabandhan very special by taking her shopping” Shruti Mahajan, from Pashan, had planned a vacation for her children.
“My husband and I know that my best way for my son and daughter to celebrate the festival will be a joint weekend getaway,” he said.
“Because we have celebrated the festival at home, we are thinking of going lunch this year.
Many restaurants are advertising offers for Rakshabandhan, and we plan to use it,” said Jeetu Singh.
