Pune: Deputy Chief of Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday called the kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old girl in the city as an “embarrassing and outrageous” incident.
Pawar, who is also Minister of Pune Guard, said the state government would ensure that all suspects arrested were the most stringent punishment in this case.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Deputy Minister of Chief said the police had arrested eight of the 13 suspects and acted on the war footing to arrest the remaining five suspects.
“The incident was stain on the face of humanity and the police must be more vigilant.
They must ensure that there is no recurrence of such events in the future,” he said.
Since this statement, the police succeeded six more skek, including five autorickshaw drivers and a young man who was known to the girl, in connection with crime.
Deputy CM said that since the incident also involved several train employees, the government had contacted the train minister immediately seek the last cooperation in biting the tendency through action.
