Pune: July sees the highest number of covid vaccination in Pune District, with more than 17.83 lakh shots recorded, the health department data has shown.
A large number of second-dose recipients – in large groups 18-44 – certainly helped increase the amount but they have qualified for the next photo shoot only in the last week of July.
Officials say vaccine availability is also a key factor.
Of the 5.43 doses of lakh given in May in the district, the count is more than threefold in July.
In June, the district had given a shot of almost 15.29 lakh.
The covid vaccine drive for those over the age of 60 and 45 (with fundamental conditions) starts in March.

All of the above 18 becomes eligible from May 1, but severe supply shortages have affected coverage in time, although most populations are open for vaccination.
