Pune: The number of Covid cases has decreased significantly in Pune, but the city hospital still records an increase in critical patients from neighboring countries, Sangli, Satara and Kolhapur.
Some hospitals estimate the 70:30 ratio, while referring to the current level of hospitalization – 70% of the revenue comes from other districts.
Govind Kulkarni, a senior consultant doctor with a super-special hospital Sahyadri, Nagar Road, said, “We now accept the complex Covid-19 cases from districts such as Nashik, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Solapur, Kolhapur and other parts of Maharashtra.
This is mostly most Post-Covid patients who have bilateral pneumonia with several other system complications that require ICU, ventilator, etc.
“Kulkarni added,” Out of the total Covid acceptance at our hospital, 30-40% of patients will be from Pune.
The rest is the patient outstation .
This trend has prominenced over the past two months because several districts reported more cases than Pune, which also had a higher recovery rate.
“He said Pune received many patients because it had a complete Covid Care Center, ICU unit and specialist doctor.
Kapil ZIRPE, a member of the Pune Covid task force and the head of the Neurotrauma unit from Ruby Hall Clinic, said, “The Covid case most admitted to our hospital was severe and complicated from the Ahmednagar and Satara districts.
They contributed around 70% of the current acceptance.” Sanjay Pujari, from the ICMR National Task Force in clinical research for Covid and the Director of the Institute of Infectious Diseases, Pune, said the city is currently seeing a large number of patients coming from other districts.
“On the contrary, during its peak, the case is only most of Pune.
The inter-district trip has been opened, which can be one of the reasons for increasing outstation patients,” he said.
The source of Jehangir Hospital said, “Even though Covid reception is only in one digit, at least 50% of the receipt comes from outside.” CEO Pune Zilla Parishad Ayush Prasad said 30% of all hospital admissions in the district may be an outstation patient, with 10% in medical college in the country of Pune.
“Even non-covid patients from several districts in Marathwada, Pune Division and the Ahmednagar section came to care here through reference and bond between Pune hospitals and those in small cities,” he said.
