Pune: Police Sangvi on Tuesday arrested the owner of a 28-year-old cellular repair shop on charges of stealing gold and cash ornaments, collectively worth Rs 5.6 lakh, from his far relatives’ house.
The suspect on October 8 broke into the eager flat of SS Jadhav at Ganeshnagar in Sangvi, when he last went to Goa for a vacation with his entire family.
The theft was revealed on October 12, when Jadhav’s nephew found the key was broken and filed a police complaint.
Senior Police Inspector (SPI) Sunil Tonape from Police Sangvi said that after being caught wandering around the crime scene, suspecting Madhav Kharabe from Pimple Gurav acknowledged his involvement in theft during interrogation.
“Kharabe knows that Jadhav has planned a vacation to Goa.
We have recovered all the booty,” Tonape said.
