Pune: Chinchwad police on Saturday enrolled a case against an employee at a jewelry store to steal 330GM Gold Bar worth RS16.31 Lakh.
Sub-inspector N J Talawade from Police Chinchwad told TII, “the suspect, who came from West Bengal, has begun working at a jewelry store located in Chaphekar Chowk in Chinchwad just two months ago.” The owner of the Jewelry Shop Lakhamichand Kataria (42) has filed a complaint to the Chinchwad police.
Talawade said that according to the complainant, he used to give gold to the suspect to make ornaments from him.
“In the order, he used to give him to the suspect in the morning and used to take stock while checking stock at night,” Talawade said.
On Saturday morning, the complainant had submitted 330GM Gold Bar worth 16.32 lakh for the complainant.
“In the afternoon, the police found that the suspect was not in his place and his gold was also gone,” Talawade said.
