Pune: The Cantonment Pune and Khadki boards have begun to rejuvenate the natural water body in their jurisdiction as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ which is celebrated by the Ministry of Defense (MOD) in all departments, including Cantonese.
Overall 24 water bodies have been identified in 19 Cantonese, including Pune, Khadki and Dehu Road in the South Army Command Area.
Pune Cantonment has initiated the work of the natural spring in Muregha Garden and a jogging park in the military residential area near the Turf Club, the Canton of Khadki’s board has climbed and cleared two British era water wells in the Khadki Bazaar area.
Amit Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Pune Cantonment Board, told TII, “We have canceled the land to clean the area and remove unwanted vegetation and bushes around the spring.
We have established a pitching stone to channel water to the muredha park .

We have now arranged iron mesh to cover open parts.
