Pune: Kitty Tax Property Body Civic Set for Swollen

Pune: Civic body property tax income tends to increase by Rs 150 Crore with 23 village merges.
The Civic government has set RS 2,000 Crore’s target for Fiscal 2021-22.
“Villages have been added to the city limits.
Property tax rates within civilian boundaries can now apply in these villages,” said Ayush Prasad, Chief Executive Pune Zilla Parishad.
In accordance with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) official, the civilian government has begun to collect property taxes from 11 villages that are combined in 2017.
PMC collects around RS 60 Crore from these villages.
“A property survey in 23 Joining villages will be carried out and property tax bills will be sent to them,” said a senior PMC official.
The Civic’s body has collected around RS 902 Property Tax Crore so far.
In accordance with PMC data, around 10.6 Lakh properties are in tax nets and around 2 Lakh properties tend to be added from 23 villages.
Property tax is one of the biggest sources of income for PMC.
On average, around Rs 1,400 Crore collected from the source.
However, the Civic body has set a greater target this year.
With the state government that issued a notification of the merger of 23 villages, PMC is now the largest civil body in Maharashtra.
The total area under PMC is 518 SQKM, overtaking SQKM 440-strange Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
Unlike similar merger in the past, all 23 suburban villages, including Wagoli, Khadakwasla and Pisoli have been added “completely” with the boundaries of the Civic Agency, the notification of the state urban development department stated.
