Mumbai: The enforcement directorate questioned the former Minister of Revenue Eknath Khadse for nine hours on Thursday, the day after he caught his son-in-law in the case of money laundering.
ED is likely to call Khadse again for further statement after checking the collected details.
Ed had called Khadse Mandakini’s wife for her statement on Wednesday, but she was looking for two weeks, claiming she was not healthy.
ED officials questioned Khadse about land agreement Pune MIDC.
Khadse reportedly sent several documents needed and provided their versions related to land transactions.
During the previous question in January, Khadse had refused to give any details after stating that the agreement was carried out by his wife and daughter-in-law and he had no knowledge about it.
Lawyer Khadse Mohan Tekavde said, “We have given all land related documents to Ed.
They need several more documents, which we will immediately set up.
We work together in an inquiry and will appear before Ed as and when we are called.” Khadse arrived at the office Ed at 11 am on Thursday, and while entering the Zonal Ed office at Ballard Estate, he told Mediodperson that the case against him was politically motivated and that it began after he left BJP and joined NCP.
He left the office ed at around 8pm.
Ed caught the son-in-law of Khadse’s son-in-law Girish Chaudhari on Wednesday.
Chaudhari took all the responsibilities related to land transactions and said that he identified a plot for business through agents and took RS 2 crore loans from his acquaintances to buy a plot.
But he refused to give details about people who had expanded a loan Rs 2 Crore, allegedly through the Shell company.
He also refused to provide details of the agent who helped him identify the plot.
Previously, the State Anti-Corruption Bureau had submitted the use of Firth Khadse, his wife Mandakini, Chaudhari and one Abbas Ukani to get the Mid plot land in Bhosari and caused the loss of Rs 61.25 Crore to the government cheating to enter sales of acts.
It was alleged that Khadse, as Minister of Revenue in 2016, pressed MIDC officials to manipulate notes and help his relatives buy a plot at a price that threw away.
