Pune: A 39-year-old civil engineer suffered an injury to his head, his face and hands after eight people threatened him with a sword and brutally attacked him with a stick after a repair dispute in the Tarde road in Karkde Vasti at Loni Kalbhor near Pune came out on Tuesday.
Loni Kalbhor police on Thursday arrested two out of eight men on charges of riots and voluntarily caused a spicy injury to the victim.
Engineers, Anil Jagtap who worked in a construction company, told TII, “Through heavy vehicles such as dumper and truck through Karkdunde Vasti has caused big damage to the Tarde Road.
It has a deep hole.
I have held a meeting with the contractor carrying gravel to The construction site in the village and convinced them to fix holes because the road was mostly used by them.
“Jagtap said the contractor was initially reluctant, but they considered their requests and instructed their staff to fill holes in their own expenses.
“On Tuesday at around 1:15 a.m., five dumper reached the place and work began.
After news spread, two of the eight people put the sword on my neck and six others were misused and attacked me with a stick.
They said I didn’t have the authority to fill the hole.
I fell unconscious and found the head injury, my face and hand after I got a reality, “Tarde said.
The road belongs to the Ministry of Public Works and is intended for light vehicles, but used by dumper, trucks, cranes, multi-axel trucks and containers.
Locals have time and re-complain to government authorities to resume the road, he added.
Senior Inspector Rajendra Mokashi said, “We have arrested Ravindra Jagtap and Kishore Jagtap, both farmers, after the engineer registered firmly against them and other people under the relevant parts of the Indian criminal code and ARM.
