DS PAI, Scientists and Head of Climate Research and Services, IMD, to TII, “Our forecast for September shows that there will be good rainfall over Central India in the following 7-10 days, which will help cover rain deficiency significantly, including parts From Vidarbha.
“Anupam Kashyapi, Head of the Weather Forecasting Division, IMD, Pune, said that around September 11, another system would be formed in the north and adjacing the Bay of Bengal, which will then help rain.
“September will help the monsoon make the most of its shortcomings.

The IMD also said that it has developed an Indian Atlas climate vulnerability based on 13 meteorological disaster events.
The formal inauguration for Atlas is likely to be held soon.
“Atlas will identify vulnerabilities or districts that may be vulnerable to events such as heat waves, cold waves and storms, among others,” said Polak Guhathakurta, Head of the Climate Research Division at the IMD, Pune.
He said Atla would be the basis for impact-based estimates for each district because it provided climatological information on 13 weather hazards.
